John Linton

About John Linton

John founded Elbert Capital Management in 2018 and serves as the Managing Member and oversees all investment decisions. From 2015 to 2018, John worked as a Portfolio Manager and Associate at Metropolitan Merchant Capital and Metropolitan Partners Group, two related SEC registered investment advisers. While at Metropolitan, John managed a portfolio of $110 million of financial assets. From 2014 to 2015, he worked as an Investment Management Officer at the One Earth Future Foundation focusing on international impact investing and served as the Fund Manager for the United Nations IFAD Somali AgriFood Fund. John worked as a Banking Officer for FirstBank from 2009 to 2012. John obtained an MBA from Johns Hopkins University where he focused his studies on finance and entrepreneurship. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder majoring in finance and minoring in economics. John was appointed to and currently serves on the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board for the State of Colorado. John is currently a Mentor with the Professional Mentor Program at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of Biking for Baseball, a youth mentoring non-profit, and served on the Development and Marketing Committee for the Family Resource Center Association. John has been quoted regarding finance and investing in US News and World Report, GuruFocus, and other publications. His financial writing has been published on Investopedia.
